Although currently not new as in "Up-to-date, Lulz, I made this yesterday".. these are new to Deviantart.

Almost everything in my gallery thus far doesn't represent my animation skills at all now, however if you're interested in how I got to the stage I'm at today, have a ponder. Theres some weird shit in here!

MSPACE progress

Tue Jan 27, 2009, 7:10 PM
Well for those who followed me on Sheezyart, you'll know that for a long while (Technically since the end of 2005, although pretty activly from between July-September last year, and then December to now) that I've been working on a Flash actionscript based Point and Click adventure engine which would have driven a game called WADEANGRY starring lots of Newgrounds characters. The engine is now called MSPACE (Mister Simons Point And Click Engine), and I hope to create at least three point and click adventures using the system. From the start, the key design philosophy for the engine is that absolutly everything is controlled with just the mouse movement, and a single mouse button.

I decided to scrap WADEANGRY last year though, but I have used what little of the game there was to extensivly develop the MSPACE engine... I'm getting very very close to calling the engine complete, still quite a lot to do, however I can confidently say I'm closer to the end than the beginning now.

Within the last couple of weeks, I've implemented a whole ton of features, including load/save game, dynamic depth handling (So I can have objects on stage Wade walks infront and behind), tips if you hover over an object, a much more improved handling of the code... generally, everything is WAY cleaner, way nicer...

I had been posting almost nearly every minor update on Sheezyart, but have been holding out since I got back to development last month. I'm hoping to get a final preview out and ready to share by the end of the month!!

Once thats out the way and the engine is ready to go, I'm going to be working hard with Munglai ([link]), creator of "Easy Way Out" ([link]) to create an extensive game based upon his classic "Morgan Quest" forum thread, starring Morgan Freeman in an epic quest.

After "Morgan Quest", I hope to develop another game with another flash artist, before attempting my own, maybe even coming back to WADEANGRY... through each differnt game, polishing the engine and adding new features.

So this is what I'm up to now, extensivly outside of work. I havnt been so determined to finish something like this for quite a while. I had felt last September that it was ready to go... but with hits like Griswold the Goblin on the web now, I've had to really step up my game in order to match the quality... I feel that I've put together a simple, clean but extensive engine that'll allow a much more enjoyable web-based gaming experience to be created. Fingers crossed I can deliver..

I'm so sorry to hear you had left. But it is your choice to leave. Best of luck and I have to say I really do like your music and hope to hear more soon. I'll add you to my friends list since I used to listen to you when I had the chance.

With best wishes
